AI Disclosure
Healthy Western Recipes uses artificial intelligence (AI) tools to assist with our editorial work. We believe in transparency about how we use these tools.
Where we use AI
- Recipe research: Identifying which Mediterranean or Western dishes fit our 400-600 kcal, 15g+ protein target
- Outline drafting: Generating initial recipe outlines based on our editorial briefs
- Nutrition calculation: Cross-referencing ingredient databases to compute calories, protein, carbs, fat, and fiber per serving
- Photography prompts: Writing image generation prompts for food photography
- SEO metadata: Drafting meta descriptions and tags (always human-reviewed)
Where humans remain in the loop
- Recipe writing: Every recipe is rewritten by a human editor from any AI draft
- Test cooking: Every recipe is cooked at least twice by a human in our test kitchen
- Photography: All photos are shot in our kitchen
- Editorial review: Every recipe is reviewed by a human editor before publication
- Corrections: All user-submitted corrections are reviewed and processed by humans
What AI does not do
- We do not publish fully AI-generated recipes without human review and testing
- We do not use AI to impersonate human writers or sources
- We do not use AI to generate fake reviews or testimonials
- We do not use AI to manipulate search rankings (e.g., AI-generated doorway pages)
Our commitment
We use AI as a tool to help us cook, write, and publish more efficiently. We do not use it to replace the editorial judgment and test cooking that makes a recipe trustworthy. If you ever find a recipe that seems wrong, please contact us โ every correction is reviewed by a human.
Updates to this policy
We will update this disclosure if our use of AI changes substantially. The most recent revision is shown at the top of this page.
